“Ocean Al Maury” Soars to Win Sheikh Zayed Cup in Poland; “Maximus” and “Mister Grisou” Crowned Wathba Stallions Cup Champions

The horse “Ocean Al Maury” (Ocean Al Moury) claimed victory in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, while “Maximus” secured the title in the Wathba Stallions Cup, both of which took place on August 20, 2023. These races were held at Służewiec Racetrack in the Polish capital, Warsaw. Additionally, “Mister Grisou” emerged as the champion of the Wathba Stallions Cup held at Royan Racetrack in France, as part of the 15th edition of the Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Festival.

The organization of the festival follows the directives and encouragement of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Minister of Presidential Court and Chairman for the Emirates Arabian Horse Society, with the aim of developing the horse racing industry worldwide, supporting the preservation of purebred Arab horse breeds, and encouraging breeders to care for them across continents.

The prestigious Sheikh Zayed Cup, attracted five strong horses aiming to excel in the European race for the third category over a distance of 2600 meters. “Ocean Al Moury” achieved this victory under the supervision of Iwona Kasperczak and the guidance of Stepan Mazur, triumphing with a lead of 7 lengths over the second-placed “Apollo Del Sol” , while “Lex”secured third place. The champion horse, descending from the lineage of “Al Murtajaz,” clocked a time of 3:00:1 minutes.

In the Wathba Stallions Cup, “Maximus” of Urbanowski, under the supervision of Różański and ridden by Ki Mazur, claimed victory with a lead of 1.25 lengths over “Eyd’a Alfash”, covering a distance of 1600 meters in 1:49:22 minutes. “Ormika” secured third place.

On the other hand, “Mister Grisou” of Shadewell Racing, supervised by Thomas Fourcy and ridden by Guillaume Guedj-gay, clinched the title of the Wathba Stallions Cup at Royan Racetrack in France over a distance of 1600 meters, with a prize of 12,000 euros. “Mister Grisou” won by a margin of 0.75 lengths over “Almadora”, with “Chihab Al Cham” securing third place. The champion horse registered a time of 1:51:68 minutes.

The winners of these races, broadcast live on Yas TV, were congratulated by Ahmed Al Mansoori, the responsible person for economic and political affairs in the mission in Poland. It brings together breeders, riders, and enthusiasts from around the world to witness the impressive skills of these majestic animals. HH Racing festival fosters a sense of community and promotes the growth of the Arabian horse industry. It is a pinnacle of excellence and athleticism in Arabian horse racing. and symbolizes unity, culture, and the vision of our late father Sheikh Zayed.

The festival features races such as the Jewel Crown Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed Cup, the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Cup, the Wathba Stallions Cup, and the International Purebred Arabian Horse Racing Forum.
