Under the patronage of the 15th edition of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Festival’s race events, the Wathba Stallions Cup is hosted at Służewiec Racetrack in the Polish capital, Warsaw. The event is dedicated to purebred Arabian horses aged three years only, with a prize of 5,000 euros.
The festival aims to support horse owners and breeders worldwide and encourages them to increase their interest in the Arabian horse, which reflects the bright aspects of the UAE’s culture and heritage, in line with the festival’s strategy.
In the 2,000-meter race, seven horses are competing, with the horse “Sarieeh Alfalah,” owned and bred by the Emirati, Mohamed Obaid Al Khayyal, leading the nominations under the supervision of C.Fraisl and ridden by A.Turgaev. This horse has won in its only participation in the race.
“Sarieeh Alfalah” faces the challenge of its rival, “Al Thakhira,” owned by Faleh Aldousari, under the supervision of C.Pawlak and ridden by K.Mazur. “Al Thakhira” has won a race and finished second behind “Kalice de Carrere”
Also competing for the title is “Kalice de Carrere” owned by Anwar Salim Ali Al-Mahri and ridden by A.Reznikov. This horse is undefeated in three races. Another contender is “Samra Awam,” owned by Abdulhamid Alfaraj and ridden by K.Grzybowski, and both are supervised by trainer C.Fraisl.
The festival includes races like the Jewel Crown, the Zayed Cup, the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Cup, the Wathba Stallions Cup, and the International Arabian Horse Racing Forum.
The festival started its new edition on January 11th of the previous year, where new races were added in the 2023 season, and it witnesses the organization of 152 local and international races around the world, including races that have been upgraded to the first, second, and third category.
