The competition was organized by the Purebred Arabian Horse Breeders in Lebanon and sponsored by the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival under the slogan of One World 6 continents Abu Dhabi The Capital.
The closing ceremony was attended by Hazza Ahmed Al Mansouri, UAE Charge D’Affairs at the UAE embassy in Beirut, Ms. Lara Seaway, Executive Director, HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, General Manager of Wathba Stallions, Chairperson of the Int’l Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA), Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) alongside top officials, horse breeders, owners and a big crowd of the lovers of this noble creature.
F Falcons emerged victorious in the 10-12 categories stallions category to earn his owner Mohammed Al Eraibi the gold medal and championship title while Oxidos walked away with the silver medal and the bronze medal was claimed by Aragon.
In the mares’ championship, the gold medal was won by Amina for Hisham Al Khalil, Las Vegas landed the silver and Nadra De Yara claimed the bronze medal.
The 4th to 6th colts’ categories championship, Sondos Al Aqla landed the gold medal for Talal Al Aqla, SS Falcon won the silver medal and Al Nero bagged the bronze medal.
Jolene Oaker led a 1-2-3 sweep for Mohammed Al Eraibi in the 1st to 3rd categories as Sedena finished second and behind them came stablemate Silwati.
Elsewhere, Las Vegas topped the 10 years Olds + mares competition with 90 points for Yasser Dahrooj, Zahd was second and Dorah took the third place.
The 4-6 Years Olds competition was won by Anfuwan for Shafiq Mosawi with 87 points, Raihan came second and Onwan was third.
Oxidos for Mohammed Al Hishaimi was voted winner of 7-9 Years Old with 88.67 points ahead of Elayan and Flaken Bride.
The final competition for the 10 Years Olds and above was topped by FF Falcons for Mohammed Al Eraibi with 91.33 points in front of Aragon.
Ms. Lara Seaway hailed the great support and directives of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs to promote the Arabian horse and hailed the positive response of the Arabian Horse Centre and Arabian Horse Breeders in Lebanon to ensure the success of the event.
“The continuation of the championship for the fifth consecutive year has contributed to the promotion and encouragement of the national breeders to improve the quality and quantity of breeding without depending on imported animals. I’m also delighted to see such large number of stallions which took part in the competitions,” she said.
The UAE Charge D’Affairs Al Mansouri thanked HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the unlimited support pointing out that the support of Festival has put the Arabian horse on the international map.
“The UAE initiative has contributed to the development and pushed forward the efforts to preserve the sport in Lebanon,” he said.
