The HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s final Wathba Stallions sponsored UK fixture of 2017 will be held at Chelmsford City Racecourse on Saturday 16th September, 2017.
The Arabian Racing Organisation-organised meeting is seven-race card and will get underway at 1.00pm. Run as part of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival, the Wathba Stallion series offers welcome support to the sport’s grass roots with the days’ races including a range of handicaps, plus a maiden and a conditions event for juveniles to cater for all grades.
Gemma Cobb, Arabian Racing Organisation Racing Operations Executive said: “It is a pleasure to host our final Wathba Stallions fixture of 2017. ARO is extremely grateful for the continued support of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival and Lara Sawaya. The last HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival and Wathba Stallions sponsored meeting held at Chelmsford City in August also included the HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup, the first ever Group 1 race to be staged at the track. Held in conjunction with their popular music nights, it drew a huge crowd, introducing a whole new audience to top class Purebred Arabian racing.”
She continued: “This is our fourth visit to Chelmsford City racecourse this year and we are delighted with how our sport has been received by the local race-goers, who clearly love their racing. We thank all the staff at the track for their support and assistance this season.”
