HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival have announced their support for endurance rides by becoming the main sponsor for the HH The President of the UAE Cup FEI 3-star 160-km ride and by organizing the Sheikha Fatma Bint Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ladies
Endurance Cup at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba. At a press conference held at the Eastern Mangroves Hotel, Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club said Dh 1,500,000 will be distributed among all riders who complete the HH the President’s Cup while the top three will also be awarded a car each.
“Apart from this there will also be a car for the winners of the team championship in the HH the President’s Cup,” he added.
“For the Sheikha Fatma Bint Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ladies Endurance ride, which will be run over 100 kms, the total prize money is Dh 350, 000,” Al Nuaimi said.
Also addressing the conference was Ms. Lara Sawaya, Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival and Head of Ladies racing in IFAHR.
“On Friday we will roll out a ‘Fatma Wathba Land’ at which all children between the age group of 6 to 9 years will be able to take part in a series of activities. The aim is to get the children gain interest in the heritage sport of the UAE and ensure they have a fun outing,” Ms. Sawaya said.
“Three of these children will win ponies while two more will get to attend riding classes at the Abu Dhabi Riding School. Two children (Each accompanied by a family member) will also win tickets to a trip to Paris and a visit to Disneyland,” she added.
Talal Al Hashmi of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Sultan Al Zaheri of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, Nafez Abara of SAS Investment, Stephen Bowey of Invest AD, Nadim Lahad, Abu Dhabi Manager of Emirates airline, Shamma Al Ketbi of General Women’s Union and Karim Fairouz of Al Awani Enterprises also addressed yesterday’s press conference.
The HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival is organized by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and co-ordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in association with Emirates Racing Authority, IFAHR and Emirates Arabian Horse Society, supported by General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare and Fegentri with Emirates airlines as the official carrier and sponsored by Invest AD, Al Rashid Investment, Areej Al Ameerat, Mauzan, Al Awani General Enterprises, Kabale, the UAE’s General Women’s Union, the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2013, Dr. Nader Saab Switzerland, Wathba Stud Farm and Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
