DUBAI — Berlin well to host the third edition of the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference during the month of June, next year it was announced on Friday.
Speaking at the Press conference held at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre, Lara Sawaya, director of Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, said: “We are now assembled again once again to announce the third edition of the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference. After successfully hosting the first and second conferences in Abu Dhabi and Duindigit respectively, the third edition of the conference will be held over three days from June 7 to 9, 2012.
“We are happy to host it in Berlin as it is a big city with a tradition of hosting Purebred Arabian racing. I would like to thank Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for providing us all the support for staging the conference,” she added.
Sawaya also said that to strike a balance between the three race series the Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Fagentri Cup has been increased from two to nine and Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup from nine to 10 and new venues have been in included in the Wathba Stud Farm Cup.
The press conference was attended by Mats Genberg, secretary of International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing, Essam Abdullah of Emirates Arabian Horse Society, Stephen Bowey, executive director (marketing) Invest AD, Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, director general of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Talal Al Hashmi of Abu Sports Council and Peter Banzhaf, on behalf of Drav (German Racing Association of Arabian Horses).
